Kela's health care freedom of choice pilot for people aged 65 and over
From 1 September 2025, people aged 65 and over will be able to see a private general practitioner for the same fee as in the public healthcare system – around €30. In addition, Kela will cover 50% of the cost of certain GP-ordered examinations, up to set maximum prices.
